The third and final day of The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) was not short of news. Releases on day three included:
Village Hotel Club outlined the next steps in its £480 million programme for the unique lifestyle brand that will take the number of Village Hotel Clubs from 30 to 50 by 2026, creating 2,400 new jobs in the process. Members of the team attended IHIF this week to discuss new growth strategies for the industry, Village Hotel Club is again demonstrating how its highly disruptive lifestyle concept continues to achieve market leading growth for all stakeholders.
KPMG launched their annual publication, 'Global Leisure Perspectives', at the IHIF. Offering fresh perspectives on key industry trends from around the globe, KPMG presents their view on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for hotels, travel and tourism, restaurants and bars, sports and gaming. A sample of the articles include “Are competing global hotel brands stronger together?”, “The 'Brexit effect' on global travel and tourism” and “Using data and analytics to gain a competitive advantage in the leisure industry”. This publication gives an exciting flavour of what’s ahead for the global leisure sector, as well as providing some key practical takeaways for leisure operators. IHG announces first voco™ hotel in the Netherlands - The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, and UBM Development AG, today announced the signing of the first voco™ hotel in The Haguein the Netherlands which is planned to open in 2020. This signing is the first publicly announced signing in Continental Europe underscoring the strong momentum of the voco brand in the region since its launch in June 2018.
